The former governor of Rivers State, Nyesome Wike has been screened and cleared deservedly by the Senate for the ministerial role.
Wike who was earlier listed among the ministerial nominees passed to the Senate by President Bola Tinubu last week has been cleared by the Senate on Monday, thus waiting for his role of service in the administration.
After being screened and extolled before the Senate for his achievements as a Governor, Nyesome Wike has revealed that his passion and love for Nigeria are what make him accept the offer.
According to the Punch, Wike said “I accepted the offer to serve as a ministerial nomination because of my passion to serve Nigeria.”
Moreover, Senator Barinada Mpigi, who was sent as a representative by the lawmaker representing Rivers Southeast has disclosed to Nigerians that the selected nominee is the best in the state. “His Excellency former Governor Nyesom Wike is our best in Rivers State. He is our leader and role model.
“Distinguished senators, we employ that you should let him just take a bow and go.
“His resume is insufficient to enumerate the works that he has done,” Punch reported.
Thenceforth, Senate President Godswill Akpabio asked him to fake a bow and leave.
